what is coaching?

life coaching pushes you to think beyond quick fixes; find what truly matters and what's been holding you back.

Life coaching is a collaborative process aimed at achieving your desired life changes. Through exploration, we identify goals, create a plan, and overcome obstacles.

Life coaching is teamwork—we'll collaborate to understand what changes you want to make and how to achieve them. These changes can range from feeling more confident to advancing in your career or feeling more comfortable in your relationships.

It's completely okay if you're unsure about your goals initially—that's what I'm here for. Seeking a coach doesn’t mean you’re unhappy or that there’s something wrong with you. On the contrary, it shows that you’re proactive and committed to your personal and professional development. As a life coach, I'll help you explore deeper issues. For instance, if you're dissatisfied with your work-life balance, we won't just aim to leave work at 6 p.m. each day. Instead, we will examine why you're unhappy with the time you spend at home.

Life coaching encourages you to look beyond quick fixes and discover what truly matters and what has been holding you back. In the work-life balance scenario, this could involve changes at work, such as setting boundaries or delegating tasks. Alternatively, it might mean finding acceptance with your current situation and its balance. While the goal of leaving work by 6 p.m. seems straightforward, the exploration of underlying questions is where the real value of life coaching lies.

While change isn't guaranteed, gaining a sense of lightness and clarity often is.

transformative and
holistic coaching

My coaching style is transformative and holistic. Transformative coaching means it’s focussed on making changes and developing positive habits. Holistic means you take all parts of your being in account for this change; mind, body and spirit. I believe all aspects of our lives are strongly connected. For example, work stress can mess with your sleep and relationships. My approach tackles the work stress and the impact it has on the rest of your life. Instead of separating work life and personal life, I believe it is healthier to integrate them. The same goes for all interpersonal relationships we have. For example, if you strongly avoid conflict in your romantic relationships you likely find yourself in a similar pattern of behavior with friends and family.

what to expect in a
life coaching session

Coaching sessions typically last for an hour are conducted over GoogleMeet. There's no need for any preparation or specific expectations; just come as you are. During our sessions, we'll delve into your thoughts and ideas, creating an open and non-judgmental environment where you can express yourself authentically. If it’s helpful you can take on some homework at the end of your session, and discuss it at the start of the following session.

the coaching process

We’ll team up to figure out your goals and make a plan that works for you. We can chat about any problems you're facing and brainstorm solutions. Coaching is all about thinking and doing. By understanding where you are now and where you want to be, we'll create a strategy to help you get there.

coaching vs. therapy

Therapy and coaching both help you grow, but they're different. Therapy is more about healing past hurts and emotional baggage. Coaching is about looking forward and helping you find your own solutions to reach your goals. It's all about boosting your confidence, making better choices, and creating lasting change.
